It seems yet another sports biopic is in the works in Bollywood. According to reports, Kiara Advani is in consideration to play Indian swimmer Bhakti Sharma in an upcoming biopic on her life.
For those not in the know, Bhakti Sharma is the first Asian woman and the world’s youngest person to set a world record in competitive swimming in Antarctica’s freezing waters. The makers feel that Advani fits the bill.
Sharma’s mother, who has also been her coach, recently said in a statement that the makers are considering roping in the Good Newwz (2019) star to topline the project. She, however, also added that she thinks Shefali Shah and Alia Bhatt would be her choice.
Bhakti started training in swimming at the age of just 2 years and her first open water swim was when she was 16.
Meanwhile, Advani has her plate full with interesting films. She is currently waiting for the release of Anees Bazmee’s horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, co-starring Kartik Aaryan and Tabu. She also has Dharma Productions’ Jug Jugg Jeeyo and Govinda Naam Mera in her pocket. The actress also has been confirmed for Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s next with Kartik Aaryan and Shankar’s pan-India film with Ram Charan.
