Vishal Bharadwaj's next film ‘Khufiya’ is causing quite a stir in the Hindi film industry. The film stars Tabu, the director's muse, in the major role, and it is billed as a gripping thriller. In addition to Tabu, the cast also includes Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi, who promise an entertaining cinematic experience.
The trailer was released today by the producers, and it appears to be promising. 'Khufiya,' a spy-thriller, is due to launch on Netflix India on October 5.
In the trailer we can see Krishna Mehra (Tabu) as a RAW agent on a mission called ‘Operation Brutus’ to catch the traitor, Ravi (Ali Fazal) who is creating photocopies of top-secret documents and selling them to spies. Ravi’s wife, Portia (Wamiqa Gabbi) has no clue about her husband’s crimes but when she finds out, she is shocked and believes that what Ravi is doing is very wrong and tries to escape with her son. Tabu goes through a whirlwind of emotions as she sees how the RAW agents kill people with no mercy only to get their operation done.
The plot centres around Krishna Mehra (Tabu), a member of the Research and Analysis Wing. She is tasked with tracking down the mole who is selling India's defence secrets while juggling her twin identities as a spy and a lover.
Vishal Bhardwaj wrote, produced, and directed the Hindi-language neo-noir spy thriller ‘Khufiya’. The film is based on the espionage novel ‘Escape to Nowhere’ by Amar Bhushan. Ashish Vidyarthi, Azmeri Haque Badhon, and Alexx O'Nell also play important roles in the film.
