‘Khichdi’ is still one of India's most popular television shows. The show's and its characters' success resulted in numerous seasons of television and a film that was released in 2010. The makers have now released the much-anticipated teaser for its sequel, ‘Khichdi 2’, which was released today on the internet. There are some amusing references to Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Salman Khan's ‘Tiger’ in the teaser.
The long-awaited teaser for ‘Khichdi 2’ was published today, September 30th. The teaser begins with some humorous parallels to SRK's ‘Pathaan’ and Salman Khan's ‘Tiger’ as the Parekh family is offered five crores for a risky assignment. What follows is a succession of hilarious sequences with the family's eccentric personalities, notably Hansa (Supriya Pathak) and Prafful (Rajeev Mehta). We are also introduced to Pratik Gandhi, the pilot of a plane carrying the family, at the conclusion.

Hats Off Production, the film's production company, shared the teaser on Instagram. The caption read, "Laughter tsunami Alert: ‘Khichdi 2 - Mission Paanthukistan’ Releasing on 17th November, in theatres near you. #Khichdi2 #Khichdi2ThisDiwali #Khichdi2InCinemas".
Aatish Kapadia, who also directed the first instalment, returns to direct ‘Khichdi 2’. Anang Desai, Supriya Pathak, Rajeev Mehta, Nimisha Vakharia, Jamnadas Majethia, Kriti Kulhari, and Pratik Gandhi feature in the film. The movie will be released in theatres on November 17, 2023.

The ‘Khichdi’ franchise comprises of two films and a successful television series of the same name. The first season premiered on Star Plus on September 10, 2002, and told the story of the Parekhs, a Gujarati family who dwell in an old mansion. It was followed by a second season, ‘Instant Khichdi’, which aired from July to August 2005. Its sequel series, which debuted in 2018, followed the family's misadventures. ‘Khichdi: The Movie’, a film based on the franchise, was released in 2010 and included the same cast members. It received favourable reviews upon its initial release.
