Kartik Aaryan is now preparing for the release of his next film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which is set to enter theaters later this month. The actor is currently on a promotional tour and has spoken out about his exit from Dharma Productions' Dostana 2. Last year, the actor made news for alleged unprofessional behavior that enraged Karan Johar, the head of Dharma Productions. He was claimed to have dropped out of the project, in which he was set to star alongside Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya.

Kartik Aaryan was questioned during a conversation if his disputes with industry people could lose him work because he is not from a film background. In response, the actor said, “I just focus on my work. That’s all I would like to say about this. Look at my (film) line-up (right now).”

When asked about rumors that a group of industry insiders were forming a lobby against him, Kartik responded, “What happens, at times, is people make ‘baat ka batangad’. There is nothing more to it. No one has so much time. Everybody just wants to work, do good work. Other than that, things are just rumours.”

Dharma Productions issued a statement last year, when rumors about Kartik's 'unprofessional' behavior were circulating. It read, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence - we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon.”

Kartik Aaryan was most recently seen in Dhamaka (2021) and is set to star in the highly awaited sequel to the horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which was released in 2007. Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan co-starred in the original.
