This week's episode of Koffee With Karan featured Kiara Advani and Shahid Kapoor, who maintained that the show was entertaining throughout with their amusing, heartfelt, and quirky disclosures and anecdotes. One of the things revealed on the show was that this actress had previously been offered Kiara's role in her Netflix film Lust Stories (2018).
Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal played the key roles in the short film that Karan Johar directed for the anthology. Kiara was praised for her acting skills and the manner in which she performed the scene in which her character Megha experiences an orgasm in front of the entire family.
Karan Johar admitted that it was difficult to find a suitable person for the role while talking about the film and how it helped Kiara stand out as an actor in the series. He claimed he first offered the role to Kriti Sanon.
The filmmaker said, "I had offered it to Kriti Sanon, the role...and she said that her mom didn't allow her."
"I thought everybody's mom would stand in line, not allowing their daughters. It's actually a very empowering story. It's about a woman's right to pleasure. So I met Kiara at Manish Malhotra's house, and I just saw her, I knew her of course, I knew her as Alia Advani then...so I met her and I asked can you come tomorrow and meet me, it's for a short film," he added.
"She said, are you directing it? I said yes. Then she said, yeah! I'm doing it!" he continued.
Lust Stories released on Netflix in 2018. Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar each helmed one of the four short films in the anthology movie.
