While the world is in awe of Alia Bhatt’s distinct avatar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, Kangana Ranaut does not seem very impressed with her act in the much-anticipated magnum-opus.
Taking a jibe at the film and its casting, the four-time National Film Award-winning actress wrote on her Instagram Stories that she feels Bhatt is too naive and looks immature to portray the role of a prostitute, a gangster and a social worker in the film. She even predicted that the film is going to be a washout at the ticket window.
Ranaut wrote, “This Friday, 200cr will be burnt to ashes at the box office … for a papa (movie mafia daddy) ki pari (who likes to keep a British passport) because papa wants to prove that romcom bimbo can act… the biggest drawback of the film is the wrong casting…yeh nahi sudhrenge… No wonder screens are going to South and Hollywood films… Bollywood is destined for doom jab tak movie mafia has power….”
The actress did not stop just there. She followed it up with another scathing post that read, “Bollywood mafia daddy papa jo to who has single-handedly ruined the work culture in the film industry, has emotionally manipulated many big directors and forced his products of mediocrity on their cinematic brilliance, another example will be following soon after this release. People need to stop entertaining him, in this Friday release even a big hero and greatest director are the new victims of his manipulations.”
Directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi also features superstar Ajay Devgn in a cameo appearance. The film is due on February, 25, 2022.
