Even though her most recent film, Dhaakad (2022), bombed miserably at the box office, Kangana Ranaut is in a happy place right now. The reason is that Kangana is now filming Emergency, her upcoming movie in which she plays former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. And now, it appears that National Award-winning Director Madhur Bhandarkar is interested in casting Kangana Ranaut in one of his upcoming films, which could involve another contentious subject.
According to a report, after his upcoming release, Babli Bouncer (2022), starring Tamannaah Bhatia, director Madhur Bhandarkar plans to make another female-focused movie. This movie, which is based on a real-life Kashmiri singer who was allegedly slain by militants, is eager to cast Kangana Ranaut, a four-time fellow National Award winner, as the main character.
The project may, however, be put on hold as a result of producer Firoz Nadiadwala getting cold feet about previous women-focused films, according to the report. The producer hasn't been able to start a film since Welcome Back (2015), which is another issue.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency also stars Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan and Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Apart from Emergency, Ranaut will be next seen in Tejas and Manikarnika 2.
