Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga talks about Ranbir Kapoor’s role in Animal

In a promotional interview with SS Rajamouli, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who rose to prominence with the controversial Kabir Singh, finally opened up about Ranbir Kapoor's character in his upcoming film Animal. In response to a question about whether the personalities of Kabir Singh and Ranbir Kapoor in Animal are similar? Vanga stated that they are not close or similar.

Sandeep sat with SS Rajamouli for a detailed discussion on the creation of his upcoming film, RRR, ahead of its release. Rajamouli inquired Sandeep about Ranbir's character in Animal near the end of the interview. He was curious if it would be similar to Kabir Singh's character from the film.

Sandeep replied “ I don’t think Ranbir’s character is close to Kabir Singh. You won’t find any similarity in the characters but there’s definitely violence. What will be common between both the movies is that they’re character-driven stories.”

SS Rajamouli further said that he even had discussed with his AD about Animal being very much similar to Kabir Singh or Arjun Reddy. He said “I even discussed with my ADs if Ranbir’s character has any shades of Kabir or Arjun (from Arjun Reddy). Even they didn’t find any similarity between the characters.”

During the interview, Sandeep questioned Rajamouli regarding why all of his stories are about vengeance. Rajamouli stated that vengeance is the most powerful emotion. As a result, he prefers to work with it in order to create a strong impression on the audience.
