In the 1992 film Bol Radha Bol, Juhi Chawla and Rishi Kapoor co-starred for the first time. Their final on-screen appearance will be in Sharmaji Namkeen, which is set for a direct-to-OTT release. When it came to Sharmaji Namkeen, Juhi couldn't stop crying because it was Rishi Kapoor's final project. Rishi Kapoor died in the year 2020. He had shot for the majority of the film, which was completed with Paresh Rawal upon his death.

When Juhi revisited her Sharmaji Namkeen experience, she described the film as "so much fun but also heartbreaking." She went on to say how amazing she thought it was that the filmmakers were so focused on finishing the movie no matter what.

Ritesh Sidhwani from Excel Entertainment called me a few weeks after Chintu Ji, died and said, 'We will see this through to the end.' We will not give up.' I was like, "I'm all in for it." I like the movie. I had a great time working with Chintu Ji. When he left us, it broke my heart. So, with this film, we experienced a wide range of emotions. But I'm relieved to see that it's finished and ready to go.

When asked about how was her experience working with Rishi Kapoor Juhi replied “ On the sets, when scenes were going on, Chintu ji was effortless and sparkling. And I was standing in front of him and struggling with my takes. I knew what was happening inside me. I was like, ‘Chintu ji ke itne acche shots hai. Mere nahi aayenge toh not good. I would keep running to the monitor just to see ki maine take theek kiya ki nahi. So, Chintu ji was like – ‘monitor is not meant for actors. Why are you behaving like an insecure actor? Hitesh, why are you allowing her to see the monitor.’ I would crack up, but still went and saw the monitor. I loved all that. Great fun.”

She further adds saying that “ He would never see the monitor after his shots were done. Even if you ask him, he would say, ‘It is your job. I don’t want to see anything. I used to enjoy working with him.”
