The suicide of Jiah Khan occurred on 3 June 2013. Sooraj Pancholi then spent over a month in the Arthur Road Detention Facility. He spent 22 days behind bars. According to the results of the autopsy, hanging was the exact cause of the actress' death. Rabia Khan, the actress's mother, argued that her daughter's death was not a suicide but a premeditated murder. The six-page memo Jiah Khan left behind was the lone piece of evidence against Sooraj Pancholi. He had been imprisoned on charges of aiding suicide. Rabia Khan reported being physically and emotionally abused, and the CBI took over the investigation after that.
Sooraj Pancholi has been freed from the allegations of aiding in suicide, according to Judge AS Sayyad. He claimed that there wasn't enough proof to back up his claims.

There is nothing bigger than peace in this world."
The actress's mother, Rabia Khan, claimed that she put a lot of effort into gathering proof. She claimed that the court had brushed off the issue. Jiah Khan's note caught many people off guard when she claimed that Sooraj Pancholi had allegedly pushed her to have an abortion.
