Even years after its debut, the 2007 film ‘Jab We Met’, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor, maintains a significant fan base. Geet Dhillon, played by Bebo, was universally adored and remains one of her most memorable roles to this day. Since its premiere, the super-hit cult classic film has won great critical praise and numerous awards. Several stories on the Internet in recent weeks suggested that Imtiaz Ali is in talks to create a sequel to ‘Jab We Met’.

Imtiaz Ali addressed the speculations of a ‘Jab We Met’ sequel during an interview with News18. He said, “No, it’s not happening.”
The director also stated that he does not yet have a story for Jab We Met 2. He stated that he had read rumours claiming that a sequel to Jab We Met was in the works, but that no one had consulted him before publicizing the reports.
“I don’t have a story for Jab We Met 2 yet. I’ve heard of these and read these reports and articles. Nobody asked me before publishing them, so I don’t know what to say. But let’s see what happens,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor's tweet from June of this year drew a lot of attention. A fan of X asked Shahid, “I’ve noticed that you and Imtiaz Ali have been interacting a lot recently! Is there any project in the works?” In response, Shahid wrote, “Smart Boy,” prompting people to question whether he will work on a project with Imtiaz Ali after 16 years.

In addition to Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, Tarun Arora, Saumya Tandon, and Dara Singh played supporting parts in ‘Jab We Met’. Imtiaz Ali wrote and directed the romantic comedy film, which was produced by Dhilin Mehta under his Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision brand. On October 25, 2007, it was released in theaters.
