Radhe Shyam, starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, was one of the many films that recently got postponed indefinitely due to the sudden surge in COVID-19 cases across the country.
After facing several delays, Radha Krishna Kumar’s period romantic drama was set to hit screens on14 January 2022, coinciding with the festival of Sankranthi. However, it was postponed indefinitely due to the sharp spike in the Omicron variant cases.
Recently, filmmaker SS Rajamouli announced that his much-awaited film RRR, starring Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, will release either on March 18 or April 28, depending on the coronavirus situation in the country. The latest we hear that Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam will arrive on whichever of the two aforementioned dates that Rajamouli vacates.
Sharing more details, a source in the know informs a publication, “Prabhas has two big films ready for release, one in Telugu Radhe Shyam where he plays Shyam and the other in Hindi Adipurush where he plays Ram. Both Ram and Shyam are very impatient to get out there into movie theatres. Prabhas is pushing to ensure that at least one of the two releases, Radhe Shyam which started shooting long before Adipurush, is released this year.”
