R. Madhavan makes his directorial debut in 2022 with the Indian biographical drama film 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,' which he also wrote, produced, and directed. A scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation by the name of Madhavan, the movie is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan. Fans swamped the comment area with red hearts and fire emoticons as soon as IIFA uploaded the post.

Madhavan plays the scientist Nambi Narayanan in the title role of the movie, which debuted on June 1, 2023. The biographical drama received a remarkably positive reception when it was played in Parliament on August 5. Six languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, were used for the global release of 'Rocketry.' The film was filmed in Georgia, Serbia, Canada, France, and India. Suriya and Shah Rukh Khan appeared in the movie as cameos.
