Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu brought the Miss Universe 2021 title home after 21 years, making every Indian proud. This beauty queen won at the beauty pageant in December 2021, becoming the winner of the 70th edition of the pageant in Eliat, Israel. Sushmita Sen was the first to bring the Miss Universe title home in 1994 and became one of the first Indians to win the competition. After six years, Lara Dutta has also been crowned Miss Universe.
The world witnessed the Miss Universe 2022 coronation ceremony On January 15, 2023, held in New Orleans, USA. USA's candidate, R'Bonney Gabriel, won the Miss Universe 2022 title for this time, while Venezuela's Amanda Dudamel was the first runner-up. Harnaaz Sandhu beautified the event to crown the successor. However, she got extremely emotional and held her teary eyes as she walked the stage for the last time as the reigning Miss Universe at the event.

In the video, she greeted the audience with a namaste gesture while holding her tears, and as she walked the stage, she tripped. However, this beauty with brains stood again like a queen and recontinued her walk with grace and confidence.
Whereas her voiceover was playing in the background, Harnaaz said, "I was 17 years old when I first took the stage, and since then, becoming Miss Universe has been my goal. I've been given the megaphone on a worldwide stage to present the topic of menstrual equity before world leaders, asking them to keep this conversation ongoing."
