Genelia Deshmukh marked her comeback on the silver screen at 35. She made her Marathi debut in the film VED by starring opposite her husband, Riteish Deshmukh. This film is produced by Genelia Deshmukh and has become the second highest-grossing Marathi film after Sairat. The film also marked Riteish Deshmukh's directorial debut as well.
Genelia plays the role of his wife, Shravani, an Indian Railways employee, but does not get his love as he plays the role of an alcoholic husband pining for his former girlfriend. Recently she disclosed that she would love to take up positions that suit her age group.
Genelia Deshmukh expressed her desire about what role she wanted to play. She said, "Today, I am in another age group, and I want to play roles of that (age group). I feel there are better-written roles Today. You could be a single mother or a married mother, and you could have a love story. This age group is beautiful. I hope to have roles written in that zone."
Ved is all set to cross ₹50 crores at the box office collection.
