‘Gadar 2’ is achieving unprecedented success at the Indian box office. The film, featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles, hit theaters on August 11, 2023, and swiftly crossed the Rs 400 crore milestone in India within a mere two weeks of its release. As audiences and critics alike shower the film with admiration, its songs have also risen to the top of the charts. However, the reimagining of two songs, ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ and ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Le Ke’, from the original Gadar film has stirred discontent with the original music composer.

Uttam Singh, the maestro behind Gadar's music, has criticized the creators of ‘Gadar 2’ for appropriating his songs without seeking his input and for enlisting a different music composer for their recreation. In a recent interview, the artist candidly addressed the makers' lack of courtesy.

‘Gadar 2’ continues to shatter box office records across India. The film's remarkable journey led it to surpass the Rs 400 crore mark in a mere fortnight, becoming the second-fastest film to achieve this feat after Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Pathaan’. Additionally, ‘Gadar 2's global earnings have surpassed Rs 500 crore, solidifying its status as an all-time blockbuster.

Sunny Deol recently took to his Instagram account to express his gratitude to the audience for their overwhelming affection towards ‘Gadar 2’. “Thank you everyone that you liked Gadar 2. I never thought this would happen. We have crossed ₹400 crore and will go further. It was possible only because of you. You all liked the film. You all liked Tara Singh, Sakina and the whole family. Thank you,” the actor said in a video posted on Instagram.
