Farhan Akhtar lauds Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Badhaai Do
Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar recently worked together in Harshavardhan Kulkarni directorial, Badhaai Do (2022), which was released in theatres on 11th February, 2022. The film also marked their first collaboration on screen.
Actor-director Farhan Akhtar is in awe of the Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer. He turned to his Twitter handle to applaud the film's production staff as well as the lead actors. Helmed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, Badhaai Do revolves around Shardul Thakur, a police officer, and Sumi Singh, a PE instructor, both of whom are secretly gay. The couple decides on a lavender marriage to avoid their separate families forcing them to find a companion of their own gender, despite the fact that they are both in hidden relationships.
On February 11th, 2022, Badhaai Do was officially released in theatres around the world, to a rapturous response from fans. However, despite its intended budget of roughly Rs 35 crore, the film only generated Rs 7.82 crore in its opening weekend, with a lifetime total of Rs 28.03 crore at the Indian box office.
