Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar paid tribute to engineers on Engineers' Day on September 15. He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a post about the late Jaswant Singh Gill, whose role he plays in the upcoming film 'Mission Raniganj.'

'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue' is set in 1989 and is based on the real-life story of Jaswant Singh Gill, who led the rescue of 64 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal. The film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor. It also stars Parineeti Chopra.
In addition to Mission Raniganj, Akshay Kumar has several other films in the pipeline. He will be seen in the Hindi remake of the Tamil drama 'Soorarai Pottru', the action thriller film 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', and the comedy film 'Housefull 5'. He has also announced 'Welcome To The Jungle,' which will feature an ensemble cast of 24 actors.
