History appears to be repeating itself with SRK's next films 'Jawan' and 'Dunki.' There is a lot of commotion over the money these films earned for their digital rights. It appears that Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Dunki,’ co-directed by Rajkumar Hirani, has already grossed a fortune.
'Dunki's post-theatrical digital rights have been sold to Jio Cinema for more than Rs 155 crore. According to a source, it is the largest contract in the history of Indian cinema for a single language release. 'Dunki' is anticipated to have a global effect because of the collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani. According to the report, 'Dunki' has earned more in digital rights than Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' with Atlee.
The source revealed, "Rs. 155 crores is a huge sum but the SRK x Hirani combo deserves this and a lot more. The amount fetched by ‘Dunki’ is even higher than what Jawan fetched for the Hindi version from Netflix."
This is hardly surprising given that Shah Rukh Khan has demonstrated that he is the one who has had the most success with 'Pathaan.' 'Pathaan' swept in and destroyed all the biggest records ever set at a time when Bollywood films were failing to achieve miracles at the box office.
