Draupadi: Rukmini Maitra And Ram Kamal Mukherjee ANNOUNCE Collaboration For Upcoming Mythical Masterpiece
Following the biography on theatre legend Binodini Dasi, 'Binodini-Ekti Natir Upakhyan,' the director will take Rukmini on his second trip to the silver screen. Ram Kamal Mukherjee, who previously worked with actress Rukmini Maitra on the biography 'Binodini-Ekti Natir Upakhyan' about theatre star Binodini Dasi, is getting ready to helm a masterpiece titled 'Draupadi.'
As it transfers the classic Mahabharata story to the big screen, 'Draupadi' promises to be Bengal's most extravagant visual extravaganza.
Based on the acclaimed Odia novel 'Yajnaseni' by renowned author Pratibha Ray, the movie will examine the epic through Draupadi's perspective and provide a modern interpretation of her persona, which stands for endurance, penance, and strength. Dev Adhikari, who is also a co-producer of the movie, expressed his belief in Ram Kamal's artistic vision and Rukmini Maitra's acting prowess, and he sees their distinctive story as one of the project's main draws.
The decision to work with Ram Kamal and Rukmini once more was a testimonial to their abilities, according to Prateek Chakraborty, another producer of the movie, who expressed his pleasure about remaking the epic drama in its ambitious Bengali version.
In the meantime, Rukmini Maitra recognised the comfort Ram Kamal provides to difficult parts on screen and expressed her joy at working with him once more. She has a big chance to play 'Draupadi' because of how important the character is to Indian culture.

The filmmaker is now finishing up the post-production work on ‘Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan’ while also doing research and collaborating with Paawaan Aagarwal on the screenplay for ‘Draupadi.’
Ram Kamal expressed his gratitude to the filmmakers and Pratibha Ray for giving him the chance to work with Rukmini once more and for awarding the film rights to her book.
He also disclosed that the picture needs four months of pre-production work, including demanding workshops, before shooting can begin. Once the screenplay is finished, the remaining members of the cast and the technical crew will be chosen.
