While Farhan Akhtar's announcement of 'Don 3' has fans delighted, the rumour that Shah Rukh Khan may not return to the role in the movie has not gone over well with viewers. In 'Don 3', Ranveer Singh is reportedly taking the role of the Bollywood superstar. SRK played the lead roles in the franchise's earlier installments.
Ranveer Singh has been confirmed as the lead in the upcoming 'Don 3' after weeks of rumours. Shah Rukh Khan, who portrayed the title character in two Don films that were released in 2006 and 2011, passes the torch to him. Amitabh Bachchan originated the role in the 1978 blockbuster 'Don.'

Through a video that was posted online, Excel Entertainment made the announcement. The first scene of the film shows a man seated on the floor of a big room looking out at the neon-lit skyline of an unidentified city. The skyline itself seems to be a synthesis of several different cities. Slowly getting to his feet, the persona removes his hood and smokes a cigarette.
