Fans of the movie franchise were thrilled to hear that 'Don 3' was in the works. Farhan Akhtar has just stated that he is working on the third episode of the action-crime drama, according to Ritesh Sdihwani, co-founder of Excel Entertainment and producer of the Don franchise. He has been working on the Shah Rukh Khan lead movie's script.
Days later, sources said that SRK, who played Don in the blockbuster film series, had quit and declined the role that would have defined his career. According to recent reports, Ranveer Singh would probably take Don's place in the film.
The rights to 'Don,' an Amitabh Bachchan movie from 1978, were purchased by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Shah Rukh Khan starred in both the new version and its sequel when the classic movie was revived in 2006. The third and last chapter, 'Don: The Chase Ends,' is set for release after 12 years. King Khan, though, has reportedly resigned and Ranveer Singh will assume his duties. Despite numerous in-depth negotiations, the actor is reportedly reluctant to reprise his role as Don in 'Don 3.'
According to the source, a few concepts were explored prior to the pandemic and developed into a script during the Covid 19 global outbreak. Recently, there was a meeting as well, but Shah Rukh Khan was not eager to reprise the role of Don at this point in his career. The actor says 'Don' most definitely does not suit the category of cinema that he is interested in doing in the upcoming few years. The actor is willing to do commercial films that cater to a global segment of the public.
The actor has also made his point known to the interested parties. According to this source, Shah Rukh Khan won't be a part of 'Don 3' due to his current diverse list of film projects.

The report also disclosed that the producers of 'Don Reboot' had settled on the concept of uniting the three Don generations. They intended to produce a movie starring Gen Z actors as well as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and others. However, SRK left after expressing little support for the notion. However, considering the history of the franchise and the actors who have played Don before, rumours now predict that Ranveer Singh will take on the role.
