Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, his actor-wife Pallavi Joshi, and producer Abhishek Agarwal on Saturday. Their film, The Kashmir Files (2022) was released in theatres on Friday. According to Agarwal, Prime Minister Modi praised the film.

On March 11, The Kashmir Files grossed Rs.3.55 crores on its first day of release. Taran Adarsh, a film critic and business expert, also tweeted the data. Despite minimal exposure, he stated that the film had performed well at the box office (630 screens).
Meanwhile, the state of Haryana has ruled that The Kashmir Files would be tax-free. The order will be in effect for six months from today, according to an official notification issued by the Excise and Taxation Department on Friday.
Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi feature in The Kashmir Files. The film, written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, tells the narrative of the Kashmiri Pandits' evacuation during the Kashmir Insurgency.
