On Wednesday, Dil Chahta Hai (2001) turned 21. This Bollywood cult movie inspired every young person to plan at least one trip to Goa with pals. Preity Zinta, Dimple Kapadia, and Sonali Kulkarni all played significant roles in the film, which starred Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshaye Khanna in the key roles. The film also served as Farhan Akhtar's directorial debut. The director posted a gratitude letter to fans on Instagram as the film clocked 21 years.

Farhan shared film montages on his Instagram and wrote, “The film that started it all, turns 21 today. Thank you to the cast and the crew who believed in it. Thank you to the audiences who continue to give it so much love. Dil jitna chahta tha usse bahaut zyaada milaa hai aapse. Love you all."

Interestingly, Aamir and Saif ended up getting back together in Mumbai on the day of the film's anniversary. The two actors were spotted in the city for Laal Singh Chaddha's launch. Kareena Kapoor Saif's wife plays a key role in the film. Before heading to the screening, the group posed for photos.

The story of this National Award-winning film, which was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of Excel Entertainment, centred around three friends whose close friendship is tested as they fall in love and take very different approaches to relationships.
