Did You Know? Hrithik Roshan REJECTED Two Films Based On RAMAYANA! (Details Inside)

The well-known Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has allegedly turned down not one but two films based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. One of the projects was suggested by his father-in-law, Sanjay Khan, many years ago. The other project came from director Nitesh Tiwari, who is currently making his own version of the Ramayana with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the main parts.

Reports say that Nitesh Tiwari asked Hrithik Roshan to play Raavan in his future take on the Ramayana. But Hrithik chose not to do it, so the director went to Yash, who was going to be in the highly anticipated movie 'KGF 2'. It is said that even Yash is not very excited about playing the role of Raavan on screen.

It's interesting that this isn't the first time Hrithik Roshan has turned down a part in a movie about the Ramayana. He was also in the running to play Lord Ram in a movie called 'The Legend of Rama,' which Sanjay Khan was making. The movie was supposed to be a modern take on the epic saga, and Hrithik was thought to be the best choice for the main part. In an interview, Sanjay Khan's son Zayed Khan said that his dad always wanted Hrithik to play Lord Ram in the movie.

The Legend of Rama was made with the help of British-Indian writer Farrukh Dhondy, who is well-known in the London scene for his work. The movie tried to give a modern take on the story of Ramayana, like the current Om Raut movie 'Adipurush.' But, for unknown reasons, the project was put on hold, and it was never finished.

In 2021, Nitesh Tiwari went back to Hrithik Roshan and asked him to play Raavan in his future Ramayana movie. But Hrithik turned down the offer again because the idea hadn't moved forward. It is said that he had already agreed to work on other films and wanted to finish the ones he was already working on, like 'Fighter,' 'WAR 2,' and the much-anticipated 'Krrish 4', the next movie in the famous superhero series. Siddharth Anand could be in charge of making the new 'Krrish' movie.

Even though the film industry is still interested in Ramayana and has several versions in the works, Hrithik Roshan has turned down all of them for his own reasons, even though he has been asked more than once.
