Shah Rukh Khan said in an old interview with Filmfare that he wasn't happy with his performance in 'Deewana,' calling it loud, rude, and out of control. He took full blame for overacting and said that it was because he didn't have a plan because he didn't have the script yet.
Even though he was hard on himself, he recognised the success of the movie and the role its music played in it. He gave credit to director Raj Kanwar and the music duo Nadeem Shravan for their parts in the movie's success.
