Actor Vijay Varma, whose breakthrough role in Bollywood was in the Zoya Akhtar-directed film Gully Boys, has recently demonstrated his acting prowess in Super 30, Mirzapur, and Bamfaad. Vijay Varma, who stars in the film Darlings and appears alongside Alia Bhatt is receiving a lot of appreciation for his role. Vijay Varma, who received acclaim for his portrayal of Hamza in Darlings, admitted that he was hesitant to take on the role because he knew the crowd would be hostile to him. Vijay felt more sure about his choice because of Shah Rukh Khan's enthusiasm for the role, though.

In an interview, Vijay revealed, "I remember somebody from Red Chillies had told me that when Shah Rukh sir read the script, he was like 'agar main young hota toh ye role main hi karta (If I was younger, I only would've done this role)', which was interesting for me to hear. That was also one of the reasons I felt like I can do this role, because if Shah Rukh Khan thinks that he can do this role, being an absolute lover-boy, national sweetheart. I was scared to take up a role like this but I am very glad that it hit the nail in the right place." Shahrukh Khan began his career by playing negative roles in movies like Darr, Baazigar, and Anjaam.

Varma is committed to preventing repetition with his upcoming lineup. He will reprise his role as the Tyagi twins in season three of the popular show Mirzapur. He will also appear in Reema Kagti's Amazon Prime series Dahaad, another Viacom 18 production, and an adaptation of the movie The Devotion of Suspect X, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat.
