Chrisann Pereira, a Bollywood actor, was arrested in the UAE after being involved in a complex scheme involving a dog, a trophy, and drugs. While two people were arrested for allegedly putting drugs on Borivali-based actor Chrisann Pereira (27) and the latter is still being held in a Sharjah prison since April 1, here's a quick look at what the police investigation has found.
However, it has now been revealed that the actor was supposedly framed in retaliation for a dogfight. Two people have been arrested in connection with the crime, according to the Mumbai Crime Branch.

Anthony Paul, a native of Mumbai's Borivali, was one of the accused. The Crime Branch also arrested his accomplice, Rajesh Babhote alias Ravi, of Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district, for allegedly transporting the actor to Sharjah with cocaine hidden in a trophy. Authorities nabbed Pereira earlier this month in Sharjah after cocaine was discovered disguised in a trophy she was carrying. She is currently imprisoned in Sharjah on drug-smuggling allegations.
Her family said she was framed, and Mumbai Police launched an investigation. Police officers learned that Paul masterminded the scheme to frame Chrisann in the case as a form of retaliation against the actress's mother, Premila Pereira.

Paul and his partner Ravi devised a scheme to send Chrisann to the UAE for a phony audition for an international web series. According to investigators, she was given the trophy in which the drugs were disguised while on her way to the airport. Officials also determined that Paul had similarly framed four other persons, including Chrisann.
Crime Branch senior inspector Dipak Sawant stated that Borate was apprehended at Kankavli and that both accused will appear in court on Tuesday to demand their custody. Police will also send a copy of the FIR to Sharjah police in order to help them get Pereira back to India by establishing that they were both framed.
