Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal and a major opposition figure, said something interesting on Wednesday. She talked about the time Rakesh Roshan went to the moon and Indira Gandhi asked what India looked like from that high point. Banerjee told this story at an event after ISRO's Chandrayaan 3 landed softly on the south pole of the moon.

Mamata Banerjee mixed up Rakesh Sharma, an astronaut, and Rakesh Roshan, a Bollywood star and the father of Hrithik Roshan, who is why the video clip went viral online. It is important to remember that Rakesh Sharma did not go to the moon. Instead, he talked to Indira Gandhi from space. Indira Gandhi asked Rakesh Sharma what India looks like from space.

In a famous answer, Rakesh Sharma said, ''Sare jahan se accha.'' Mamata Banerjee's comment about Rakesh Roshan's comment about the moon landing quickly went viral, adding to a growing list of political leaders who don't know much about India's prestigious and successful lunar missions.

Mamata Banerjee's mistake wasn't the only one that happened recently. After Chandrayaan 3's successful soft landing, Rajasthan Sports Minister Ashok Chandna wrongly praised the 'passengers' on board. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was also confused when asked about Chandrayaan 3 before its landing.
