One of the most awaited films of this year is the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra. Ever since the announcement of the film, it has always been in the headlines for its posters, trailer, or its first song Kesariya. Today, Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji has finally released the new and awaited track named Deva Deva.

The pious song opens with a brief glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor practicing and tinkering with his fire in the forest while acting as the Agni Astra. The song is filled with imaginative imagery and is all about worshipping Lord Shiva. Ranbir is also shown being taught how to exploit his abilities by Amitabh Bachchan. In the middle of the woods, a large number of lights can be seen dancing around the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star. With the song, Alia, aka Isha, is also depicted romancing Ranbir and traveling with him to mountains covered in snow. Pritam composed Deva Deva, which Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi sang. Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote the song's lyrics.

Director Ayan Mukerji spoke about the song earlier saying, “A song that has given me so much energy since Pritam (Dada) created it…Giving me strength whenever things have been tough… I've truly listened to it before every big meeting I had to take in the last few years. Give me a dance when I've played it to my friends in the middle of the night. Give me moments of singing loudly and badly in the car when I'm driving around alone. Most importantly, give soul to my life andBrahmastra (which is one and the same thing)!”

Brahmastra is produced by Dharma Productions and also stars Naga Arjun, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. The film is slated to be released on September 9 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, making it one of the most widely distributed movies in Indian cinema. SS Rajamouli will be presenting the film in all four languages.
