According to reports, well-known producer Boney Kapoor has finally obtained the remake rights to the superhit Tamil-language psychological romantic thriller Vaalee (1999), after a long legal tussle with director S J Suryah. The film starred Ajith Kumar in the lead role and helped him cement his position as one of the leading superstars of Tamil cinema.

Narasimha Enterprise, a venture by Boney Kapoor, currently holds the rights to remake Vaalee in multiple languages, including Hindi. From what we hear is that the Hindi remake will begin production first next year in 2022. Casting is yet to begin, as per a source.

“This is a film which actually made Ajith a superstar and Boney was always keen on making it. He closed the deal with the producers in July/August 2020 and bought the film rights for multiple languages, except Kannada. This was supposed to be done earlier but it got delayed due to the COVID pandemic,” adds the source.
