Bollywood actor Javed Khan Amrohi died on Tuesday, February 14. He has worked in 150 films and imprinted a niche in the film industry. Apart from movies, he also entertained the audience by playing various characters in the TV industry. He was dealing with breathing issues and has been bedridden for the past year. Earlier, He was hospitalised at Surya Nursing Home, Santacruz. He took his last breath in the same hospital after both his lungs failed. The sudden death of Javed Khan Amrohi brought a wave of mourning in the cinema world.
Javed Khan Amrohi started his acting career in theatre in the 1970s and then in films. He worked in several theatrical productions and over 150 films in his career. He marked his film debut with the film Jalte Badan. After that, he played supporting roles in the 1970s and 1980s, appearing in many films, including Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Woh 7 Din, Tridev and Aashiqui.
He was best known for his roles in the Academy Award-nominated film Lagaan, Once Upon a Time in India, Andaz Apna Apna, and Chak De! India. He also appeared in TV series such as Mirza Ghalib and Nukkad. He was also an acting faculty member at Zee TV's Zee Institute of Media Arts in Mumbai.
Javed Khan Amrohi was born in Mumbai. Apart from supporting roles in Bollywood, he also did cameos. He also performed the role of a police constable in the film 'Phir Hera Pheri', which left viewers in splits with his one-liners.
