Badshah, an Indian singer, rapper, producer, entrepreneur, and all-around sensation, collaborates on the international hit Voodoo with J Balvin, a Latinx global superstar, music legend, and entrepreneur.
Voodoo is Badshah's first official collaboration with Latinx legend, J Balvin. Badshah says of J Balvin, "He's like an idol to me. He's been doing what I've been trying to accomplish in my own area, and the way he's carved out a place for himself despite the language and the difficulties has really motivated me."
Badshah and J Balvin trade verses about being entranced by a woman over creepy synths and swinging dembow beats. Voodoo is a seductive mosaic of international influences and otherworldly references that evokes the sultriness, danger, and desperation of being in love. The music video, which incorporates sharp dancing and an ornate, candle-lit ceremony evoking ghosts, matches the single's creepy atmosphere. Sharing the music video, Badshah wrote on his social media, "Ladies and Gentlemen. VOODOO. Out now. EVERYWHERE
J Balvin says on collaborating with Badshah, “One of the many reasons I was drawn to creating music is because it’s universal. It connects people despite language barriers. Badshah and Tainy are tremendous artists, and this collaboration is just another example of how we’re able to unite people of different cultures to find common ground and vibe together.”
