John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor, who are currently working together on the much-anticipated action thriller Ek Villain 2, were set to commence work on yet another film right after completing the Mohit Suri directorial. We are talking about the official remake of the successful Malayalam-language film Ayyappanum Koshiyum (2020), starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon in lead roles.
The Hindi remake rights to the film currently rests with Abraham. The actor was set to act and produce the film under his production house, JA Entertainment. Jagan Shakti, who made his directorial debut with Mission Mangal (2019), was onboard to direct.
However, a leading entertainment portal now reports that the remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum has been put in cold storage. Sharing more details, a source in the know informs the publication, “After Pathaan, he (John Abraham) has a few more commitments, as well as a busy 2022.”
Another source tells the publication, “Arjun is also preoccupied with prior commitments, and director Jagan Shakti has moved on to another project. Due to scheduling constraints, the Hindi remake has been placed on hold for the time being.”
Meanwhile, John Abraham is waiting for the release of his next Attack, set to arrive on April 1. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles.
