In the 1990s, as co-anchor of the wildly successful cultural program Surabhi on Doordarshan, Renuka Shahane first made an impression on television with her bright smile. She continued acting in a number of Marathi and Hindi movies before taking a break to direct a Marathi movie based on a book written by her mother, Shanta Gokhale. Tribhanga, Shahane's first directorial feature Hindi film released on Netflix last year, later generated a lot of excitement. The film's leading trio of actors were Kajol, Tanvi Azmi, and Mithila Palkar.

His post:
Tribhanga
There are three women in the movie Tribhanga. Women from three generations are separated by their decisions and connected by their regrets. Nobody is flawless, the movie asserts. It is a movie that honours both women who choose to divorce their husbands and those who prefer to stay in restrictive marriages. Tribhanga most especially honours freedom of choice, no matter how ambiguous that term may have grown to mean in the modern era.
