The mythological thriller series ‘Asur's’ Asur, in which Arshad Warsi stars, has been receiving praise for his outstanding performance. His portrayal of Dhananjay Rajput has had a profound effect on the general public. Arshad Warsi is an incredibly talented actor, there is no question about that. But it wasn't until he appeared in the cult favourite ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ directed by Sanajy Dutt that he truly experienced popularity. Circuit, his on-screen persona, was adored by the public. Nevertheless, Arshad once believed that after portraying the part, his career would be done.

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Arshad disclosed that his role as Circuit will give his acting career the much-needed push. But as we all know, it ultimately turned out to be the complete opposite. “I knew yeh film was called karne ke baad, meri zindagi barbaad hai (I thought my career would be over because of this film). Mujhe laga hogaya (I felt it was over), this is the last film I’ll do. It was the role of a goon,” said Arshad.
When actor Makarand Deshpande declined the opportunity, the Asur actor became even more persuaded that his character was quite "bad". Arshad portrayed one of the five thugs that accompanied the main character, Sanjay Dutt. “Even if the film became a hit, I’d get nothing, and if it flopped, I’d get nothing,” shared Arshad. As ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ was a very different movie for the Bollywood audience at the time, he continued, even Sanjay Dutt did not fully place his "faith" in it.
Arshad's affection for ‘3 Idiots’ director Rajkumar Hirani was the only factor in his decision to take the role of Circuit. Arshad was certain that the lead actor and director would receive all the praise and that no one would remember the goons who appeared in the film. Arshad, who referred to Rajkumar Hirani as "a good man and a good director," requested the director to let him enjoy the movie despite the fact that he still held onto his presumptions. His precise words were, "Let me enjoy my failure."
The movie ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ ended up becoming a box office smash. A similar degree of admiration was shown for Arshad Warsi's Circuit and Sanjay Dutt's Munna among moviegoers.
