Anushka Sharma has been away from the silver screen for almost four years now. Her last release was Zero, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, which released in December 2018.
Currently shooting for the upcoming sports biopic Chakda Xpress, Anushka is looking forward to the project post her long hiatus from movies. Produced by Clean Slate Filmz and directed by Prosit Roy, the film is inspired by the incredible story of cricketer Jhulan Goswami and her journey as she moves up the ladder despite the problems created by misogynistic politics to fulfill her dream of playing cricket for India.
Recently, the Band Baaja Baarat (2010) actress took to Instagram to share a new still from Chakda Xpress. “Getting into her shoes and recreating the journey! #ChakdaXpressOnNetflix #ComingSoon jhulangoswami renukash710 official_mahesh_thakur anshul14chauhan officialcsfilms kans26 prositroy abhishek_baner_jee pratik8shah anishjohn83 nikhelg9 saurabhma rajneesh5258 lifaafa_ veerakapuree narenandbenedict anti.casting ankitmalik3,” Anushka captioned the picture.
Not so long ago, Anushka had shared another still from Chakda Xpress on Instagram. The caption read, "A moment from a story that needs to be told!"
Noteworthy, the 33-year-old will be playing the role of a cricketer for the first time in her 14 year old career.
Though the final release date of the film is yet to be revealed, it will stream exclusively on Netflix.
