The Don series, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, shattered numerous box office records and left fans clamoring for its third installment. But according to recent sources, SRK rejected Farhan Akhtar's script, and the director returned to the drawing board. Now that the superstar is the narrator, information about the script has surfaced. For Don 3, Farhan Akhtar intended to cast Ranveer Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, and Shah Rukh Khan together.
Farhan Akhtar planned to bring together Ranveer Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, and Shah Rukh Khan for Don 3
According to insiders, "Farhan had an adventurous concept to pair Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the third installment. Bachchan Saab played the lead in the first Don (1978). While SRK's version featured Don dying and the kind-hearted Vijay surviving, it had a different resolution. Therefore, it's unclear if Big B intended to play a part in the original version. Farhan had, however, undoubtedly considered Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan for Don 3.
According to Farhan's plot, Don 3 was also scheduled to feature a cameo by Ranveer Singh, the sources continued. He, too, intended to portray Don. The plan was for Ranveer's Don to inherit the iconic position in subsequent films by taking over from SRK's Don character.
One of the most anticipated movies of all time, Don 3 would have had a record-breaking opening weekend if Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Ranveer Singh had appeared.
