In April this year, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor exchanged vows in a small ceremony at their Vastu house in Mumbai, and in June, the same year, they made the announcement that they were expecting a child. Fans of Ranbir have been curious about Alia's plans to change her last name from Bhatt to Kapoor ever since the actress married the love of her life. The Darlings (2022) actress recently discussed her thoughts on being referred to as "Alia Bhatt Kapoor" or "Alia Kapoor" in an interview.
Alia is pleased to be called Alia Bhatt-Kapoor and she intends to change her name to it as soon as possible. Alia recently disclosed that although her stage name will always remain Alia Bhatt, she would soon change it to Alia Bhatt-Kapoor since she has now become a member of the Kapoor family. She said to a news portal, "I am happy to do it."
Alia explained that she was unable to make the changes due to her hectic schedule. She added, "We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are traveling together; you know what I mean? I don’t want to feel left out."
In addition to anticipating the birth of their child, Ranbir and Alia are also looking forward to the September 9 release of their film Brahmastra. The film marks their first on-screen appearance together. In the film directed by Ayan Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and south star Nagarjuna will all play significant roles.
