Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, who is celebrating her 29th birthday today, has said that she did not sign her recently announced Hollywood project Heart of Stone just for the sake of debuting in the West.
To be directed by British filmmaker Tom Harper, the upcoming spy thriller is set at Netflix and also stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in principal roles.
The actress, who entered the industry with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year (2012), is presently riding high on the huge success of her latest release Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Talking about her Hollywood debut, she told a publication, “I just don’t want to do it for the heck of it and to tick it off the box. I want to look at opportunities which should have a good part, an interesting dynamic, and cast something that is new and relevant."
Meanwhile, Bhatt is gearing up for the release of SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Also starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the period drama is due on March 25, 2022.
Her next release will be Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, co-starring her boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy. She also reunites with Ranveer Singh on Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film also stars veterans Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.
