Music continues to break down barriers and speak in every language. Music enthusiasts are eager for further collaborations between musicians after watching the new video of lyricist Javed Akhtar and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar improvising on Kishore Kumar's song. Javed Akhtar travelled to Lahore to take part in the seventh Alhamra Arts Council-sponsored Faiz Festival. After the occasion, Akhtar was invited by Ali Zafar to a musical evening where he was heard singing "Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main," a Hindi song written by Akhtar and performed by Kishore Kumar in 1984 for the movie Mashaal.
A businessman named Haroun Rashid, who uses Twitter, posted the video with the description, “Such a rare pleasure and a privilege to have an evening of music and poetry with our brothers and sisters from across the border. The master Javed Akhtar Sahib in Lahore-it doesn’t get better than this.” Near the end of the song, Javed joined Ali Zafar in singing the song's catchy chorus.
In response to the tweet, Ali Zafar said, “It was an honour to host him. I have always believed art & music transcends boundaries and is the best way to bring people together. Love is the ONLY way to peace. Thank you
The three-day Faiz Festival took place from February 17 through February 19, and it lasted that entire time.
