Akshay Kumar, who is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Bachchhan Paandey, is known as the most punctual hardworking actor of Bollywood. He has a jam packed schedule ahead of him, with films like Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, OMG 2, and others slated to hit theatres soon. From the beginning of his career, he has also been a part of various multi-starrer blockbusters. He has appeared in numerous hit multi-starrers, including Mohra (1994), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), and Hera Pheri (2000).

Akshay Kumar was recently questioned during a media interview why viewers don't get to witness as many multi-starrers as they did in the 1990s. The actor responded by saying: “I keep on scratching my head and I don't understand why they don't want to do it. It is so wonderful to do three hero subjects, four hero subjects, even five hero subjects, like it happens in Hollywood. But here it is, they don't want to do it. Even with two heroes, they agree very reluctantly. Haath pair jodne padte hai (We have to beg). It's beyond my understanding as to why they can't do it. But, things will change one day, I assume.”

When asked why he accepts two-hero, three-hero, and multi-starrer movies, the Housefull (2010) actor replied, “Because the script is nice. I want to do it. I want to be part of a good film. I want to be part of a hit film rather than what is my role. Mai apne role ka aachar dalunga!?” He continued, “If it is a three hero subject and mera role theek hai lekin picture ki kahaani bahot badiya hai toh I would want to be a part of it. Kyuki kal koi baat karega toh bolega ki ‘yeh bhi tha film mein.’ It’s a hit film, it’s a big film. 300 crore ka dhanda hua hai, so it is going to benefit me also. (If it is a 3-hero film and my part is small but the story is good, I would want to be a part of it. Because in future when people talk about the hit film they will remember I was part of it.)”

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Bachchhan Paandey. Directed by Farhad Samji, the film is set to hit the theatres on 18th March 2022.
