Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush’s Atrangi Re to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar

Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Dhanush’s forthcoming film Atrangi Re will be released directly on the popular streaming media platform, Disney+ Hotstar, the makers announced on Tuesday.

The trailer of the much-awaited film will be released on Wednesday this week. The makers dropped the colourful motion posters of each character from the film today, which have taken the social media by storm.

Atrangi Re reunites National Film Award-winning actor Dhanush with filmmaker Aanand L Rai after their 2013 film Raanjhanaa, which also featured Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar in the pivotal roles. On the other hand, the upcoming film marks Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar's maiden collaboration with the ace filmmaker.

During an interview, Kumar had said that OTT would be the best choice to release the film. “The film has a different subject and storyline, which has never been heard before. For me and Anand Rai, the most suited platform must be chosen for the film," he said.

Directed by Aanand L Rai, Atrangi Re is written by Himanshu Sharma and it is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films. Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has composed music for the film.
