Khiladi Kumar presented his first image as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar's upcoming Marathi historical drama Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat, Akshay Kumar has been the target of scathing criticism. And now Prakash Raj, who plays Akshay in the film Singham, has jumped on board and viciously mocked the actor for both his appearance and the electric light blunder.
The frame of a chandelier may be seen in Akshay Kumar's opening shot as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It has a flaw where it is clear that the chandelier has light bulbs put all over its rim. The joke is being made since Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who ruled from 1630 to 1680, lived long after the invention of the bulb.
As soon as internet users discovered the bug, they began teasing Akshay and urged him not to play The Great Maratha King on the big screen. Additionally, many people claimed that the bulk of the audience will always remember Khiladi Kumar as Bala from Housefull 4 regardless of the characters he would play, such as Samrat Prithviraj or Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Additionally, he tweeted a meme in which Akshay is asked by PM Narendra Modi.’Shivaji Maharaj ke time electric bulb kaise aa gaye gutka khor?’ To which Akshay replies, ‘Waise hi jaise aapke pass 1988 mein digital camera aa gaya tha.’ The actor captioned his Twitter post saying, ‘Mann Ki Baat’.followed by a hashtag #JustAsking.
Aside from the trolling, the good news is that the creators can learn from social media and fix the mistake in production so long as they are receptive to criticism from the people they are producing the movie for.
Jay Dudhane, Utkarsha Shinde, Vishal Nikam, Virat Madke, Hardik Joshi, Satya, Akshay, Nawab Khan, and Praveen Tarde make up the cast of the movie. The Mahesh Manjrekar-directed film, a Qureshi Production, is scheduled to open in theatres in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on Diwali 2023.
