The new Vimal Elaichi ad, which first ran on October 8, 2023, during the India vs. Australia match at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, has caused a lot of controversy. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has talked about it.

Kumar told a news source on X that both the new ad and the one that aired in 2022 were actually filmed on October 13, 2021, and that he had nothing to do with the brand after making it public that he would no longer support it. He did say, though, that the brand has until the end of next month to legally run the ads that have already been shot.

Kumar got in trouble in 2022 when he was in an ad for Vimal Elaichi with Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan. He told his fans on X that he was sorry and that he would no longer work with the company.

Some news stories said that Kumar had come back as Vimal Elaichi's brand ambassador, so Kumar clarified the situation. He has, however, made it clear that he is no longer working with the brand and that the new ad is just an old one that was shown again.
