Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar has reportedly teamed up with action stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff for an action comedy. Tentatively titled Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the film is expected to get off the ground as soon as Zafar wraps up his ongoing directorial with Shahid Kapoor, titled Bloody Daddy.
The latest update on the forthcoming film suggests that the makers have allocated a whopping amount of ₹300 crore for production. If the news turns out to be true, it will emerge as one of the costliest films ever made in Bollywood.
Spilling more beans, a source in the know informs a publication, “Ali Abbas Zafar has been wanting to make a two-hero film for a while now, and he got supremely excited on getting this chance of directing two big action stars from different generations. On wrapping up Bloody Daddy with Shahid Kapoor, he will commence work on the pre-production of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He has a certain vision, and is planning to present both Akshay and Tiger in the most heroic possible way.”
The source adds that while approximately 60% of the budget has been spent on actors’ fees, almost ₹100 crore will be invested in mounting the film on a lavish scale. The film will begin production towards the end of 2022 or early 2023 depending on the coronavirus situation.
