Drishyam, starring Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran, released in 2015. The suspense film, which was a remake of Mohanlal’s successful Malayalam film of the same name, was a box office success and kept the audience guessing till the very end.

Everything about Drishyam has succeeded to win hearts, from the outstanding ensemble of the actors to the storyline and performance. While fans have been impatiently awaiting the sequel to the thriller drama, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran have finally begun filming for Drishyam 2, according to a new update.

Drishyam 2 shooting has started with Ajay Devgn in Mumbai and will be extensively shot in Goa in the next months. Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta, among others, will reprise their roles from the original film.

Ajay uploaded a still from the set of Drishyam 2 on social media, in which he can be seen discussing a scene with co-star Shriya and director Abhishek Pathak. To be sure, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior actor will reprise his role as Vijay Salgaonkar, while Shriya will portray his wife Nandini.

Sharing the still, Ajay wrote, “Can Vijay protect his family again? #Drishyam2 shoot begins” and has left the audience wondering what the movie will be offering this time.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn expressed his excitement to be a part of Drishyam 2 and said that he is looking forward to the film. “I am now elated to present yet another interesting story with Drishyam 2. Vijay is a multidimensional character and he creates an engaging narrative onscreen, " He added, "Vijay is a multidimensional character he produces an engaging narrative onscreen." Nishikant Kamat, who died in 2020, was the director of Drishyam. Abhishek Pathak will now be in charge of the project.

Abhishek Pathak discusses his thoughts about taking over the director's chair for the film: "Making an official remake of a successful franchise film is an honor and a challenge. An opportunity to work along with Ajay Devgn, who is such a powerhouse of talent is a morale-booster for any creative person; his unique influence is undoubtedly the most enriching experience for me personally,” he said.
