Yesteryear actor Randhir Kapoor, who was last seen in Super Nani (2014) alongside Rekha, is keeping a low-profile these days. Recently, his nephew Ranbir Kapoor, who has been promoting his father Rishi Kapoor’s last film Sharmaji Namkeen (2022), had revealed Randhir’s reaction to the film besides mentioning that his uncle Randhir is currently in the early stages of dementia.
However, Randhir Kapoor has come out and cleared the air regarding the claim, stating that he is perfectly fine. In a statement to ET, he replied "Aisa kuch nahi hua. Not at all. I am perfectly fine. I just had COVID some time ago (in April 2021).”
When further asked why he thinks Ranbir Kapoor made the statement, Randhir Kapoor replied- "Ranbir ki marzi; he is entitled to say what he wants." The veteran actor further added that he thoroughly enjoyed Sharmaji Namkeen and his late brother's superlative performance in the film. "Like always, he was good. He was a very good actor. The movie was good," he stated.
Randhir Kapoor, who had been missing from the silver screen for quite some time now, has recently started spending time with his daughters, actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karishma Kapoor, and also his grandchildren. He says he enjoys his family time to the fullest and has been loving his new role as a granddad.
His brother Rishi Kapoor, who passed away in 2020, stars in Sharmaji Namkeen, which had an OTT release on March 31. The film was promoted by the late actor’s son, Ranbir Kapoor besides various other stars of the Kapoor clan. Tributes also poured in for the ace star from various Bollywood stars who remembered and reminisced about their dearest ‘Chintu ji’.
