Ali Fazal is a famous actor known for doing genre-bending films; whereas the actor has an amazing lineup of movies for the coming year. He will be seen in another most impressive project by Director Shujaat Saudagar. Shujaat Saudagar’s ‘The Underbug’ stars Ali Fazal and Hussain Dalal in lead roles. The film is officially being nominated for the upcoming version of the Slamdance Film Festival, which takes place on Jan 20-26 in person in Salt Lake City and Park CIty, Utah, and virtually between 23-29 January.

Here are some details about the film:-

The film was shot during a small break following a covid shutdown in late 2020 and is currently in post-production. The film was shot in a house in Maharashtra and is considered a suspenseful psychological thriller. With all the silence surrounding this movie, we hear the story of two individuals, X and Y, and how they met on Independence Day when they took refuge in an abandoned house. However, all is not well when an ominous presence in this house haunts the man on the verge of sobriety. Defeating their inner demons and the outside world is a test of courage and will.

Ali Fazal shared his words on the film:-

Ali said about the film, "It's unlike any other film I have ever done in my career so far. The film was shot under confusing circumstances at a time in my life, which was already a test of patience and emotional turmoil right in the middle of the pandemic. The hardest part was gaining the weight and heaviness required for this character, as the two characters are visually poles apart. Yes, it's harder to gain weight when you're fit. The script was a collaboration of sorts between the actors and the writers, and our director. For that matter, even our DOP, whose eyes and lenses were totally in sync with the story we were trying to tell".
