Abhishek Bachchan has admitted that he has a few quirks, one of which is that he cannot place orders for himself when staying in a hotel. The actor admitted that he is uncomfortable conversing with unknown people and would rather go peckish than call and arrange food. He revealed that it is his wife Aishwarya Rai's responsibility to check on him and order food from room service.

Abhishek clarified that he feels shy and self-conscious in some situations involving strangers. Apart from being unable to call room service, he also finds it difficult to leave his hotel lobby during promotions without the assistance of someone.

When asked in an interview if he gets conscious the actor says “I am very conscious. People laugh at me. We're sitting in a hotel today, doing our press tour, and if there isn't somebody to help me walk through the lobby, I won't come in. I am scared to enter a place alone. I need somebody around me, I would rather have somebody who can guide me. I'm very shy that way.”

Abhishek further added “I have a few quirks. If I'm working outside and my wife calls me in the evening, she'll ask, "How's your day?" or something along those lines. She asks, "Have you eaten?" I say, "No." She says, 'Okay, what do you want to eat?' I tell her, and she will... I can't get in touch with room service. Aishwarya has to call because she knows I'm not going to eat. This is a problem for me. "I have a problem speaking on the phone with a stranger." When told he has a 'wonderful wife,' Abhishek replied, 'yeah, she's the best.'

Abhishek's latest film Dasvi starring Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur went live on Netflix India and Jio Cinema on April 7. The actor plays Ganga Ram Chaudhary, a Jat politician who ends up in jail in the social comedy. He decides to pass his Class 10 exams in order to avoid doing manual work in the film, but he is later inspired to promote the benefits of education in his province. Yami plays the prison's jailor, while Nimrat gets to play Ganga Ram's wife Bimla Devi, who becomes the incidental chief minister after her husband is imprisoned.
